New Mexico is nicknamed the Land of Enchantment, and it really is pretty enchanting. It has mountains, deserts, hoodoos, the Rio Grande, forests, Native American historic sites and so much more. But don’t take my word for it. Just check out the looks on my dogs’ faces – they’ve hiked all over the state with me, and they give these 10 places two paws up.

Daisy, Rosie and Donna — look like they loved these adventures and those White Sands! We have the “Dunes” on the coast here in Oregon but it’s far so we don’t get to go often. You live in a really beautiful place!

Yes, they really love the outdoors, but we have to watch out for the cacti everywhere! Oregon is beautiful also – I used to live in northern Idaho and would make it over from time to time. Daisy, my black dog, definitely loved the climate in the Pacific Northwest over the hot sun and altitude here.

If you ever do make it to White Sands, I’d suggest spring, winter or fall. Summer can get pretty hot! Also, I hear spending a full moon there is incredible. 🙂
