This Valentine’s Day, I decided to really treat Daisy and Rosie. Not only did I make them this paw-some pull toy, they also got some delicious homemade dog-friendly cookies.

For the recipe I used, go to The Simple Life blog. (Note: I used 1 cup of almond flour and 1 cup of whole wheat pastry flour and added a dash of honey to the recipe. As I live in high altitude, I also cut the recipe’s baking time in half.) I used fire hydrant, bone and heart shaped cookie cutters.

I’m pretty certain that the dogs loved the treats, and I love that they contain all-natural ingredients (and they were certainly baked with love).

To complete the Valentine’s theme, I put the finished treats in two jars I found at Jo-ann Fabric for $3. I added a dog-themed ribbon and name cards on the top (I also made a jar for our pitbull friends Donna and Luna).
